TRUMM is an expedition, an installation, and a performance.
Bernd Aichinger (Matthias Vieider), a naive yet passionate innkeeper from South Tyrol, and Karl Sacher (Jakob Kraner), a metaphysician of noble descent from Vienna, have joined forces to embark on a search for the TRUMM. They set up a base camp (a theoretical laboratory) in Innsbruck, from which they conduct week-long expeditions into the surrounding areas. At this point, all they know is that the TRUMM is bulky, hefty, and largely ambiguous. TRUMM is the second installment in a performance series by VIEIDER/KRANER exploring places of longing and fear. While FLÄCHE (2016) delved into an imaginary realm defined by vastness and flatness, TRUMM explores a contrasting theme: the desire to be crushed and the surrender to a massive, seemingly pointless entity.
