About
About
VORBRENNER is a platform for contemporary artistic practices that supports process-oriented work across disciplinary and genre boundaries and offers opportunities for temporary collaboration through short-term residencies. At its core is a movement that is probing, exploratory, investigative, and continually developing, approaching the unfinished, the paradoxical, and the fragmentary with openness. For artistic work of this nature, VORBRENNER provides the BRUX spaces, technical infrastructure, and financial resources. For both collectives and individual artists who, based on an interdisciplinary understanding of art and research, seek new insights and contemporary forms of expression, flexible environments for inquiry and artistic development are created here.
Rooms
The VORBRENNER spaces at BRUX – Freies Theater Innsbruck – provide the spatial foundation for the artistic work carried out during the residencies. They offer flexible conditions for research, rehearsals, installations, workshops, and various presentation formats.
The specific use, technical requirements, and spatial planning are coordinated individually with the artists in advance. Both rooms are designed to accommodate diverse working methods and remain freely adaptable. Drilling into walls, ceiling, or floor is not permitted.
Black Room – 235 m²
A spacious, flexible space suitable for performative, installative, and spatially adaptable projects.
White Room – 145 m²
A bright, open workspace for smaller projects, research, and workshops.
Team
VORBRENNER is conceived, organized, and operated by a team from various disciplines and supports the artists throughout their residency.
