B**oomB! is a one-hour, interdisciplinary performance that occupies a space between theater, dance, and music.
The Heiss/Senk/Shen/Yannilos collective draws inspiration from the Tang Ping movement and explores the states of exhaustion prevalent in our modern meritocracy. Using the human heartbeat as a starting point, a dancer and a musician create atmospheres of exhaustion with the help of a treadmill. B**oomB! is a performance that deals with the pressure to perform, the compulsion for self-optimization, the looming threat of burnout, self-exploitation, and societal fatigue. It aims to provide a sensory and acoustic experience of the energies that arise when people and their environment are exhausted. The performance creates an immersive event that encourages the audience to question the limits of their own capabilities. B**oomB! represents the intersection between exhausted reality and inexhaustible creativity, inviting collective participation in the process of exhausting creativity and encouraging a moment of pause to lie flat and take a rest.
