VORBRENNER is a contemporary art platform that promotes process-oriented work across all disciplines and genres. It offers short-term opportunities for collaboration for both collectives and individual artists in search of new insights and contemporary forms of expression that engage with an interdisziplinary concept of art and science. The focus is on a movement that is curious, experimental, researching, and developing, that welcomes the unfinished, the paradoxical, and the fragmentary. For exploratory trials of such nature, VORBRENNER provides the BRUX premises along with infrastructure and financial resources.

        In how many ways are you and I made for each other?
        How curious, unfathomable, and fabulous would it be if humans and animals were not seen as opposites, but as interconnected beings, responding to and extending one another? Interdisciplinary artists Katharina Augendopler and Martina Fladerer explore this concept in the Cabinet of Curiosities, an interactive space and chamber of wonders that invites curiosity and fabulation.
        The narrative explores the connections between humans and animals, reconstructing the meanings of empowerment, humanization, and appropriation.
        The Cabinet of Curiosities encourages visitors to speculate, engage with the exhibits, draw connections, and be surprised by interventions. Embedded within the collection is a sound installation that acoustically narrates the various relationships between the human and animal realms. As visitors engage with this installation, they may struggle to determine whether it is a human or an animal communicating with them.

        Katharina Augendopler

        Katharina Augendopler (AT, *1994) ist Musikerin, Performerin und Kunstvermittlerin, sie lebt und arbeitet derzeit in Wien. Sie studierte am Orff-Institut/Universität Mozarteum Salzburg elementare Musik- und Tanzpädagogik mit dem Schwerpunkt Instrument Schlagwerk und befindet sich gerade im Masterstudiengang Angewandte Dramaturgie an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Derzeit arbeitet sie als Musiktheaterpädagogin im Bereich Vermittlung und Outreach an der Wiener Staatsoper, konzeptioniert partizipativ-künstlerische Formate wie Mixed Art in der Brunnenpassage Wien und ist nebenbei als freischaffende Künstlerin in verschiedenen Konstellationen tätig.

        Martina Fladerer

        Martina Fladerer (DE, *1989) ist Musikerin, Wissenschaftlerin und Vermittlerin. Sie studierte im Mannheim Germanistik/BWL und an der Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg und am Mozarteum Salzburg Klarinette. Seit 2021 studiert sie Angewandte Dramaturgie an der Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Wien. Sie arbeitete im Landestheater Salzburg in der Theaterpädagogik und in der Operndirektion. Aktuell schreibt sie ihre Dissertation an der Interuniversitären Einrichtung Wissenschaft und Kunst in Salzburg über das Musicking als diffraktives Miteinander.
