VORBRENNER is a contemporary art platform that promotes process-oriented work across all disciplines and genres. It offers short-term opportunities for collaboration for both collectives and individual artists in search of new insights and contemporary forms of expression that engage with an interdisziplinary concept of art and science. The focus is on a movement that is curious, experimental, researching, and developing, that welcomes the unfinished, the paradoxical, and the fragmentary. For exploratory trials of such nature, VORBRENNER provides the BRUX premises along with infrastructure and financial resources.

        Three artists collaborate using different media — dance, drawing, and sound — to create a multisensory dialogue inspired by the 22 Tarot cards of the Major Arcana. They enter an experiential and poetic space, allowing themselves to engage deeply with one another and perform their observations. Through their actions and gestures, they unveil stories and voices that are as multifaceted and open to interpretation as the Tarot cards themselves. The audience can thus read the performances as a mirror or a space for projection.

        How can “creative life advice,” as ancient as the Tarot, be expressed in a contemporary feminist context as a form of performative symbolic language? What insights do we gain into the intricate relationships between objects, materials, sounds, artifacts, and individuals? What defines an empathic space?

        Kidnapped by Our Own Delicious Delusions is the next chapter in the AH I SEE series—performative experiments that explore the relationship between drawing and dance, unearth speculative (body) landscapes, and examine mechanisms of translation.

        Johanna Nielson

        Performerin, Choreografin und Pädagogin, lebt und arbeitet in Wien. Sie (co-)kreiert fluide performative Arbeiten mit einem Interesse an Improvisation, Stimme und dem Zusammenspiel von (experimenteller) Musik und Tanz. Johanna Nielson studierte zeitgenössischen Tanz und Tanzpädagogik in Linz. 2017 erhielt sie das DanceWEB Stipendium von ImPulsTanz. In Kollaboration mit Agnes Schneidewind arbeitet sie seit 2013 (Rumpuls, Performancereihe AH I SEE). Seit 2018 ist sie künstlerisch sowie organisatorisch bei Im_flieger KünstlerInnen_Initiative tätig. Johanna Nielson performte u. a. in Projekten von Alexander Chernyshkov, Evandro Pedroni und Oleg Soulimenko. www.johannanielson.com

        Zoumana Meité

        ist darstellender Künstler und Dramaturg, dessen Fokus dem unmittelbaren szenischen Kreationsprozess gilt. Ursprünglich von der Improvisation kommend, hinterfragt er den Stellenwert, den die Subjektivität des Darstellers, dessen Vorstellungskraft, Fantasie, sowie geistigen Bilder, im szenischen Kreationsprozess einnimmt. Sein Kunstschaffen konzentriert sich darauf, Medien zu entwickeln, die einen experimentellen Schreibprozess unterstützen und darauf abzielen, die ambivalenten Beziehungen zwischen psychisch-mentalen Repräsentationen und der Bühnendarstellung zu markieren.

        Agnes Schneidewind

        hat Philosophie in Wien studiert und Weiterbildungen in Choreographie und somatischen Körperpraktiken in Antwerpen und Brüssel absolviert. 2017 hat sie den Post-Master in Performance und Artistic Research bei a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies, Brüssel) abgeschlossen. Ausgehend von somatischen Körper- und Traumpraktiken arbeitet sie mit Bewegung, Text, und visuellen Medien. Seit 2019 arbeitet sie in künstlerischen Projekten, Organisation und Konzeption bei Im_flieger KünstlerInnen_Initiative.
