Program

VORBRENNER is a contemporary art platform that promotes process-oriented work across all disciplines and genres. It offers short-term opportunities for collaboration for both collectives and individual artists in search of new insights and contemporary forms of expression that engage with an interdisziplinary concept of art and science. The focus is on a movement that is curious, experimental, researching, and developing, that welcomes the unfinished, the paradoxical, and the fragmentary. For exploratory trials of such nature, VORBRENNER provides the BRUX premises along with infrastructure and financial resources.

        The Dance Hall dance performance explores alternative forms of coming together. Virtual technological connections serve as the starting point for a journey through the Platonic realm of ideas and ideals, ultimately leading to empathic encounters.

        Seven dancers and one musician, physically isolated from each other, simultaneously danced in "a utopian Dance Hall" across London, Brussels, Antwerp, and Vienna. These experiences of connection and sensitivity are now embodied live on stage by five performers. Moving between physical and mental forms of communication, they re/construct their own space/place based on the relationship between the presence and absence of the other. Their collective memories become traces that project the past into the present and future, unfolding on stage through their bodies and the music of Christa Wall.

        Yoh Morishita

        Tänzerin, Performerin und Choreografin lebt und arbeitet in Wien.
        Nach dem Studium der Architektur in Kyoto, Japan hat sie Zeitgenössischen Tanz in Linz, Österreich und Antwerpen, Belgien studiert. Als Performerin hat Sie mit Vera Tussing, Michai Gayzen, Oleg Soulimenko sowie weiteren Tänzerinnen und Choreografinnen in Wien gearbeitet.

        Bun Kobayashi

        Seit ihrem Abschluss an der London Contemporary Dance School hat Bun Kobayashi mit Vera Tussing, Pepa Ubera und Ben McEwen an den Themen Berührung, Manipulation und Autonomie in der Improvisation gearbeitet. Während ihrer Arbeit mit Theo Clinkard entwickelte sie ein Interesse an der Notation von Tanz, und konnte mit dem Gracefool Collective in Verbindung mit Stimme und Text arbeiten. Zuletzt trat sie im Rahmen des Young Associates-Programm in Olive Hardys Stück im Lilian Baylis Studio auf.
