Program

VORBRENNER is a contemporary art platform that promotes process-oriented work across all disciplines and genres. It offers short-term opportunities for collaboration for both collectives and individual artists in search of new insights and contemporary forms of expression that engage with an interdisziplinary concept of art and science. The focus is on a movement that is curious, experimental, researching, and developing, that welcomes the unfinished, the paradoxical, and the fragmentary. For exploratory trials of such nature, VORBRENNER provides the BRUX premises along with infrastructure and financial resources.

        Punkte die zu Strichen geworden sind is a sound experiment between a river canal and a highway. A temporary narrative enriches this otherwise anonymous space, weaving in various protagonists and movements: the sound of hooves clattering away, a tempestuous scale on the right, the low hum of a passing engine, and a resonating boom from below.
        A performance, staged and recorded along the banks of the Inn, incorporates location, music, objects, and bodies to create an immersive sonic experience within the theater space. Visitors to the sound installation can listen from multiple perspectives, switch between them, compare their experiences, and observe the differences. This situational composition aims to construct a sonic experience while intentionally avoiding any causality or dramatic structure in the events presented.

        *1988 in Vorarlberg, lebt und arbeitet in Wien. In ihren multimedialen Installationen setzt sie sich systematisch mit Repräsentationen der Mystifizierung von Natur und Technik sowie instrumentalisierter Natur und mit den Erfahrungsbereichen Isolation und Simulation auseinander. Durch die direkte Auseinandersetzung mit bestimmten Orten, deren Geschichten und ihrer akustischer Signatur, untersuchen ihre Arbeiten Geräusche, Strukturen und Objekte unserer Umgebung um die darin enthaltenen Stimmen hervorzuheben. 2007 – 17: Studium an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste und der Universität Wien, Abschluss mit Diplomen in Szenografie und Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft. 2019 erhielt sie das Start-Stipendium vom Bundeskanzleramt Österreich, 2020 das Comeback Stipendium vom Land Vorarlberg. Ihre Arbeiten wechseln zwischen Theater-, Ausstellungs- und virtuellen Räumen und ihre experimentellen Soundkompositionen sind Teil von Videoarbeiten, Performances und Lesungen. www.evamariamueller.net
