μtopia
/ˈmjuːˈtəʊ.pi.ə/, „μ“ stands for mu-tual, mu-tant, mu-sic
Can utopia be a shared space? Or is it a multitude of parallel realities? Could it be a tapestry of both, in which multiplicity, dissonance, coexistence, sovereignty, subversion, consent, and trust need to be negotiated? Together with Magdalena Forster, Kenneth Constance Loe, and Klimentina Li, Milena Georgieva explores μtopia as a shared multiverse: real and virtual, lost and found, internal and external, all-encompassing and permeating, a queer space and a space of queerness. As different characters, they loop and morph into one another. The performers navigate various forms of experienced reality through sound, text, performance, and projection, creating a “guided experience” that oscillates between parallel worlds and ones that collide. Throughout the performance, we are provided with tools with which to explore and, loop by loop, extend our feelers out so that we may trace μtopia.
